Rockets reach Kiryat Malachi, Rahat

Lets not forget how this all started...

Two Kassam rockets that were fired at the Eshkol region landed in open areas and did not cause wounded or damage. A rocket fired at a Sha'ar Hanegev kibbutz crashed into the communal dining room and caused damage but no casualties.

Meanwhile, emergency forces were searching for the impact sites of some four Kassam rockets that were fired at the area south of Ashkelon. There were no reports of casualties or damage in those attacks.

Actor Slashes Throat on Vienna Stage

Daniel Hoevels, 30, collapsed on stage at Vienna's Burgtheater last weekend with blood pouring from his neck after cutting his throat with what was supposed to be a blunt knife, media reports said Thursday.

As he fell injured the audience started to applaud, oblivious to the fact that Hoevels was really hurt, Britain's Telegraph newspaper reported.

The actor was rushed to hospital with a knife wound that had narrowly missed his main artery.

Bronx druglords busted for stashing cocaine in Lego toys in Puerto Rico and mailing them to New York

Turns out Lego is for more than building castles these days.

Ringleader Jose David Diaz-Ortega, 28, and his eight cohorts used associates in Puerto Rico to ship the coke-laden toy kits to addresses in Manhattan and the Bronx, said the New York office of the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Federal agents said they investigated the ring for five months, tracking the packages as they arrived via the U.S. Postal Service and as money was wired back to Puerto Rico.

Paulson, Bernanke Tell Lawmakers Urgent Action Needed on Treasury Plan

Mr. Paulson cautioned lawmakers against letting the plan get bogged down in a debate over unnecessary additions.

Senate Banking Committee leaders voiced skepticism Tuesday about the U.S. Treasury's plan to buy up to $700 billion in mortgage-related assets, seeking assurances that the program will work.

Tina Fey 'likely' to play Sarah Palin on 'SNL'

Wow...this is unbelievable...who cares. Maybe Chris Rock should play her....

Tina Fey was "likely" to play Gov. Sarah Palin on "Saturday Night Live," said a person close to NBC's sketch comedy show.

Fey is "likely" to return to her former show Saturday to play the Alaskan governor and Sen. John McCain's running mate, a person close to the show told The Associated Press on Friday night. The person requested anonymity because the decision has not been announced officially. No further details were available.

Russian Mafia Now in the Dark

Who knew...I always thought the Russians were in the dark!!!

A shadow swept across Russia on Friday, delighting skywatchers who flocked to Siberia from around the world to see a rare total eclipse of the sun.

The stellar spectacle – when the moon passes between the sun and Earth – began in Canada, tracked across Greenland and crept into Siberia just after 6 a.m. ET.

It is due to end in China where some see it as a dark omen ahead of the start of the Olympic Games in Beijing next week.

In Novosibirsk, which lay directly under its path, thousands of people, some from Canada and the United States, mixed awe with excitement as day turned into night.

India Out Innovates the Americans...Even on Social Ventures

This is hilarious...the Indian government has decided that the folks at MIT who are supposed to be innovating and helping with the digital divide in countries like India, are just not good enough at it. So, instead of the 100 buck laptop, they are producing one for 10. I love the way the world is shaping up.

The government whose Ministry of Education dismissed Nick Negroponte's One Laptop Per Child computer as "pedagogically suspect" in 2006 is now backing a plan to design, build and sell a model priced at 400 rupees, or about ten bucks.

McCain May Act Soon on VP Pick

Woohoo...I wonder who it will be? Ernie? Bert? Homer Simpson?

Anxious to counter the blanket media coverage that has followed Sen. Barack Obama on his overseas journey, Sen. John McCain is weighing whether to announce his running mate in the coming weeks before the spotlight shifts to China and the opening of the Olympic Games next month.

What Men Aren't Telling You (Or, Why You Shouldn't Listen)

That women are mysterious and unknowable is something every young man grows up believing. Men, on the other hand, never think of themselves as mysterious or confusing, and we are often at a loss as to why women want to figure us out. But since you asked:

When you say we don't really talk to you or reveal ourselves to you, we wish you knew just how much we have had to suppress about our desires, pains, fears, and vulnerability over the years to conform to the script of masculinity that we are given. Sometimes we don't open up because we are afraid of what we will find. We are also afraid that if you see who we really are, in all our flawed humanity (and not the flaws that annoy you, like being untidy or driving fast), you won't like us.
